Silver Creek Jazz Band was started in 2007 by leader Dave Stoddard.  It has played a variety of events since then in formats ranging from four to seven players.  Silver Creek has played a number of concerts for the Austin Traditional Jazz Society, and it represented the Society at the 2010 Texas Community Music Festival at Central Market North.  It also played for the 2012 Louis Armstrong Festival in Round Rock.  Most recently, it represented the Austin Traditional Jazz Society at  2022, 2023 and 2025 International Jazz Day concerts at Long Center.  Silver Creek also played for the 2017-2018 Jazz on the Main in Cedar Park.  The band has played for a number of private functions, including several at Sun City.

Silver Creek combines elements of the Downtown New Orleans and San Francisco styles of traditional jazz.  It is most at home playing the jazz of the 1920s and has introduced Austin jazz audiences to many tunes not previously performed here.  Although the band’s emphasis is on older tunes, it has played a number of swing tunes and can fit its repertoire to meet customer requirements.  The band plays a variety of tempos and usually has some dancers on the dance floor.
